Interpol begin work on fifth album
New York’s gloomy post-punks reveal that they have begun work on new material.
Interpol have confirmed that writing for album number five is underway. Speaking on Twitter, the band gave an update on recent activity and announced that they have two new songs in the works.
On Tuesday, guitarist Daniel Kessler tweeted: “We had a good rehearsal yesterday. Started working on a new tune. We were all digging it. -DK”
He then wrote another the following day, adding: ‘And wouldn’t ya know it… we started working on another new tune yesterday. August be a breeding ground. -DK”
The LP, on which the aforementioned will presumably be released, will be the band’s fifth studio album and follows the tenth anniversary re-release of debut album Turn on the Bright Lights in November 2012, and their fourth record Interpol, released in 2010.
