Holly Humberstone releases new single "The Walls Are Way Too Thin"
BBC Sound of 2021 runner-up Holly Humberstone has released her new single "The Walls Are Way Too Thin".
"The Walls Are Way Too Thin" lands after last month's "Haunted House" single, and arrives with a video directed by Raja Virdi.
Humberstone says of the new song, "I wrote "The Walls Are Way Too Thin" about a time in my life when I felt like I’d lost control of where I was heading and struggling to find my place in the world. I’d just moved to a small London flat and felt claustrophobic and alone. To avoid confronting how I was feeling I’d sneak out the flat and go on train journeys to see my mates, get drunk, then come back hungover through the night and early hours. I wrote most of the Walls and the songs that come next on those trains. It was my place of therapy, in the middle of nowhere, constantly moving with no destination."
Back in February Humberstone confirmed to James Corden that she's got a new EP coming in the next few months, which will follow her 2020 debut EP Falling Asleep At The Wheel and will include a song called "Please Don't Leave Just Yet" that she worked on with The 1975's Matty Healy.
