Gulp return with glittering track "Morning Velvet Sky"
Cardiff outfit Gulp have returned with skin-tingling track "Morning Velvet Sky", the first taste of a new album due next year.
This latest offering is mixed by Luke Abbott and shows off Gulp's shimmering psych-synth pop sound with aplomb. Prongs of glistening electronica jut out from krautrock-inspired rhythms and wispy, Ladytron-esque tangents - it's effortlessly charming and provides a tantalising preview of what to expect from their next full-length outing.
"'Morning Velvet Sky' is a song about dawn, with arpeggiating machines," explain Gulp. "The intent of 'Morning Velvet Sky' is to wrap the listener in a blanket of the fuzzy feeling created by waking up on a warm dewy morning and having appreciation for the beauty in nature when things may not be perfect."
The duo, Super Furry Animals' Guto Pryce and Lindsey Leven, spent the summer festivalling with gusto (playing the likes of End Of The Road, Festival No.6, and Liverpool Sound City)
