Flying Lotus reveals he working on an EP with MF DOOM before his death
Following the confirmation of MF DOOM's death last week, Flying Lotus revealed he was working on a collaborative EP with the rapper before he passed.
On New Year's Eve (31 December), Jasmine Dumile, the wife of MF DOOM, shared a post via his Instagram that revealed the masked rapper died on 31 October. The legendary rapper was 49, and the cause of death is yet to be revealed.
Tributes poured in from all over the world, including MF DOOM's collaborators Ghostface Killah, Czarface and Bishop Nehru.
Flying Lotus also paid tribute to the late rapper and collaborator on socials, and hosted a tribute Twitch event dedicated to the masked rapper on New Year's Day.
The day before (31 December), Flying Lotus revealed in a response to a fan that the two were actually working on a collaborative project before his death. The fan wrote, "Lots of us always dreamed of a long-length project between you and MF DOOM... now that hits differently. But I'm glad to know that both of you collaborated from time to time." Flying Lotus responded, "I hate to say this but we were actually working on an EP. There were more songs that I haven’t even heard."
