Declan McKenna postpones second album release until August due to COVID-19
Declan McKenna is the latest artist to postpone his album release date because of the coronavirus pandemic.
McKenna was expected to release his sophomore LP Zeros in May, and has so far shared one single from the record - "Beautiful Faces".
On socials this afternoon (24 March), McKenna shared a statement detailing the postponement. He writes, "I know this will be disappointing for many of you but I have to announce that I am postponing the release of Zeros until August the 21st."
He goes on to explain that his upcoming tour dates have also been postponed, and adds, "This is not a decision I take lightly - I recorded the album in August last year, and for it to have taken a whole year to get out to the world is pretty jarring for me."
Before wrapping up his statement, McKenna writes, "On a lighter note this does not mean I am stopping until August, there are a fair few more tracks to come before then, and fortunately I was able to work on some incredibly exciting other projects before the situation had escalated so greatly in the UK."
