Coldplay are in talks to save Kids Company's Treehouse
Coldplay are currently in talks to rescue the Treehouse wing of Kids Company after it collapsed last week.
Treehouse, as described on the charity's website, "is a therapeutic educational unit and referral centre in North London, providing practical and emotional support for exceptionally vulnerable children, their families and young people."
Coldplay - Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion - are apparently interested in saving the centre. Martin has already donated a reported £10 million to the organisation.
Phil Harvey, the band's co-manager, said: “We’re incredibly proud of Treehouse’s work with children in great need over the past six years. It’s very early stages, but we’re not going to give up on the centre without looking at all options for the future.”
Coldplay already operate their own foundation, JJ Van Mars.
Meanwhile, therapists who worked for the charity believe the closure could cause "lasting damage" to the vulnerable children it worked with.
