Billie Eilish shares endearing new single "wish you were gay"
Billie Eilish has revealed the full version of new single, "wish you were gay".
"wish you were gay" is the second new single to be shared since announcing her highly-anticipated debut record When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?.
On the new single, Eilish explains, ""wish you were gay" is about wanting to be with someone so bad it hurts, and not wanting to accept that this person doesn’t want you in return. At least if they were gay, I’d have a valid reason for their rejection and lack of interest in being with me. I wrote the song when I was 14 and madly in love with a boy. It’s supposed to be a fun and playful way at dealing with rejection."
Eilish's new single arrives after January's "bury a friend". Her debut album will also include previous singles "you should see me in a crown", and "when the party's over".
Although Eilish is still just 17, her debut album was entirely written, produced and recorded by herself alongside her brother Finneas, in their childhood home of Highland Park, LA.
