Beyoncé called out for using same ableist slur as Lizzo in "HEATED"
Beyoncé is facing backlash for using the same ableist slur as Lizzo in the lyrics for her Renaissance track "HEATED".
Last Friday (29 July) Beyoncé released her new album Renaissance, and fans were quick to spot an ableist slur in the lyrics for "HEATED", a track that was composed alongside Drake, Cadenza and many more.
Beyoncé's use of the word comes over a month after Lizzo updated the lyrics to her "Grrrls" song after receiving backlash for using the same ableist slur.
One user wrote on Twitter, "Beyoncé using a slur generally directed at disabled people in her music is very disappointing. Especially when it’s the same slur that another big artist was called out for recently using in one of their songs."
