BAIO - alias to Chris Baio, more frequently known as bassist in Vampire Weekend - has shared the first single from upcoming solo album The Names.
Following on from the introductory track "Brainwash yyrr Face", "Sister Of Pearl" is a slightly nostalgic trip through upbeat refrains, jangling guitars, and resplendent vocals.
Of the track, BAIO said that "with "Sister of Pearl" I wanted to write a Bowie & Ferry-referencing throwback pop song with a simple, straight-forward lyrical message: be who you want to be."
The Names is released via Glassnote Records on 18 September.
