Artists are pulling out of ATP Iceland - will it be cancelled?
Fabio Frizzi is the latest name to have pulled out of ATP Iceland, citing issues with the organisers.
Frizzi says of his cancellation: “We’ve made every effort to make this show happen, but unfortunately the lack of communication and the failure to honour any of the agreements that we made with Barry Hogan (ATP), made it impossible for us to perform at this year’s ATP Iceland. It is a great shame since as we were very excited about these shows.”
Blanck Mass and múm have also cancelled their appearances in Iceland.
múm wrote last month: "Unfortunately the terms of the agreement with the festival have not been honoured and the band has been left with no other option than to pull out of the line-up."
Blanck Mass was vaguer, simply saying that "it’s just not possible to be able to play this event."
The festival is due to take place next month, and is ATP's first major vent since their Drive Like Jehu event was cancelled last minute earlier this year. There were widespread reports of artist pulling out last minute, including John Cale, after issues with organisers.
Despite sharing a similar name, ATP Iceland are a distinct company and are unrelated to the beleaguered All Tomorrow's Parties 2.0 events.
ATP Iceland is currently scheduled for 1-3 July at Ásbrú, Keflavik. Angel Olsen, Omar Souleyman, John Carpenter, and Les Savy Fav are among those still playing.
