Art Is Hard celebrate seventh birthday with new 7" featuring seven 50-second songs
Bristol's Art Is Hard Records are streaming 7x7, a new seven-track-long 7" release compiled to mark the label's seventh birthday.
This new release features tracks by Samuel Stacpoole of The Black Tambourines, KEEL HER, /Please/, The Death Of Pop, Shunkan, Gorgeous Bully, and Oliver Wilde and Nicholas Stevenson's Oro Swimming Hour.
Due to the physical constraints of the 7" flexidisc, the seven artists involved - one from each year of the label's lifespan so far - were only able contribute a 50 second song. Which led to some pretty interesting experiments, from lo-fi fuzz to surfy Denim-esque punk to dreamy synthpop, as you can hear above.
The 7x7 release is pressed onto a black fisc with gold foil artwork, and comes with a postcard containing a download card.
