alt-J release new cut "Hard Drive Gold"
alt-J have released new cut "Hard Drive Gold" as the third single from their upcoming album The Dream.
"Hard Drive Gold" is alt-J's first new material of 2022, and follows last year's "Get Better" and "U&ME" singles.
Joe Newman, who also directed the accompanying video, says of the track, ""Hard Drive Gold" is a slightly tongue-in-cheek song written at what we thought was the height of the cryptocurrency gold rush. It’s the story of the ultimate childhood fantasy, the schoolboy who becomes a millionaire overnight, and the different interactions he has with people in his life from teachers to neighbours. How ironically you interpret its message is entirely up to you…"
The Dream will follow alt-J's 2017 third album RELAXER, and was created during time off after alt-J completed their RELAXER album world tour.
