Adwaith announced as 2019 Welsh Music Prize winners
Carmarthenshire trio Adwaith have won the 2019 Welsh Music Prize for their debut album Melyn.
Adwaith released their Melyn album in October 2018, and returned earlier this month with double A-side single "Orange Soda" / "Byd Ffug".
Last night (27 November), at the Welsh Music Prize ceremony at The Coal Exchange in Cardiff, Adwaith were announced as the 2019 winners.
When announcing the winner, Welsh radio DJ Huw Stephens said, "Adwaith have made a real impact with their personal, beautiful music that captures what it’s like to be young, female, frustrated and bewildered at the world we live in."
The trio won over other 2019 shortlist nominees including Audiobooks, Cate Le Bon, Estrons, Lucas J Rowe, HMS Morris, and others.
