Låpsley releases new track "Smoke and Fire"
Låpsley has unveiled a third preview of her Cautionary Tales Of Youth album titled "Smoke and Fire".
Following the release of earlier outings "Dial Two Seven" and "32 Floors", Låpsley has shared a third outing from her upcoming record titled "Smoke and Fire", which Låpsley says is "about dating in London".
Låpsley explains, ""Smoke and Fire" was made in the thick of lockdown in my South Tottenham studio. It’s about dating in London. The endless park walks and train rides and awkward small talk over tinnies in the park. "I know you see me through smoke and fire"…I wanted to show that this person saw me through all the/my bullshit. They saw the real me. They brought it out of me. It’s a London lockdown love song, the start of a tale that eventually brought me to South Africa."
Cautionary Tales Of Youth will follow Låpsley's 2020 second album Through Water, and was produced in collaborations with Jessy Lanza, Paul White, Greg Abrahams and regular collaborator Joe Brown. It also feature an appearance from South Africa's Msaki.
"Smoke and Fire" is out now. Låpsley's Cautionary Tales Of Youth album will be released on 20 January 2023, and is available to pre-order now.
