Keaton Henson unveils new single "Late To You"

24 May 2023, 13:14 | Written by Tyler Damara Kelly

Keaton Henson shares the fourth single from his forthcoming album, House Party.

One of the more overtly personal tracks on the album, "Late To You" is a defences-down apology from Keaton to his wife; blurring the lines between himself and the album’s narrator.

He explains: “This is one of the songs that I really relate to and feel is taken from my own feelings about my wife. But perhaps for different reasons than the character in the song. It’s about finding the person you want to be with forever, who makes you feel like you can be yourself and finally relax. But feeling as though you’ve found them too late, and have already given the best of yourself to other people, and work, and life. And all you can offer them is what's left in you. But offering it anyway, and praying that they take you - baggage, flaws, emptiness and all.”

"Late To You" follows the recent singles "Envy", "The Meeting Place", and album opener "I’m Not There".

House Party will follow Henson's 2020 album Monument. The album was teased at the end of last year as Henson launched his TikTok with a selection of pop covers, ranging from Taylor Swift to Boys II Men, that were eventually released as an EP, Keaton's Party Playlist.

"Late To You" is out now via Play It Again Sam. Keaton Henson's forthcoming album, House Party, will arrive on 9 June, and is available to pre-order now.
