J. Cole's new song "Procrastination (Broke)" was recorded after searching "J. Cole type beat" on YouTube
Producer Bvtman has released a new J. Cole song titled "Procastination (Broke)", and the text message artwork reveals that J. Cole came up with the song after searching "J. Cole type beat" on YouTube.
Last night (18 January) a new J. Cole song appeared on Bvtman's YouTube channel titled "Procastination (Broke)". Although the song is yet to make its way onto streaming services, the cover art reveals the origin of the song through a text message from the rapper.
"This song should live on your channel and serve as a thank you to you and every producer out there cooking up and sharing their work with the world," J. Cole wrote. "It's a million artists out there right now just like me, hungry and searching every day for something to spark a word, a melody, a hook, a verse, a punchline, a way to vent, or a way to CUT THROUGH."
He went on to reveal that he came across Bvtman's beat on a day where he "couldn't find much motivation" and searched "J. Cole type beat" on YouTube. "Yours was the first I saw," J. Cole wrote. "I pressed play, focused, and wrote this."
J. Cole added that a track like this "would normally stay in the vault" but he doesn't "want to hold onto the music like that no more."
Earlier this month fans believed J. Cole was preparing to release new music after he cleared his Instagram. Back in December 2020, J. Cole shared an Instagram post with a "to-do list", and it featured two projects that are yet to be released - It's A Boy and The Fall Off.
J. Cole's "Procrastination (Broke)" song is on Bvtman's YouTube now.
