Indy delivers second single "Killer"
Indy, the younger sister of Lorde, has released her second single "Killer".
"Killer" arrived last week ahead of Halloween, and marked Indy's second release, following her September debut "Threads".
On Instagram, Indy wrote, "I wrote this song with [Phil Scully] at Diplo's house in 2020. I was running late that day, sulking coz of the anxiety and and feeling the pressure of writing a banger. Phil was such a g, and together we wrote about embracing that anxiety, imposter syndrome & the worst sides of yourself. I feel a lot of pressure to prove myself in the music world, and this song was so fun to write and cathartic. It's so sassy and I got to dress up in latex. I hope you love it."
In an interview with Pop Crave, Indy revealed that she has a six-song EP on the way, and said of it, "I think that the EP, it’s very upbeat, very lyric focused. I think it just explores the themes of my early 20s in love and loss. Obviously, suburbia to New York, those kinds of things. I wanted to make one song for everyone, so I kind of wanted to try a few different styles, because I just listen to a lot of different kinds of music. I wanted to try a fun pop song, a ‘70s sassy and sad kind of thing, a ballad, I wanted to do an anthem like "Killer", so yeah. I don’t know, I think they’re just all really different. I think that hopefully, people will be able to relate to those themes of the early 20s and the confusion of that."
