Dutch Uncles deliver new track "In Salvia" with Metronomy's Anna Prior
Dutch Uncles have released new track "In Salvia" with Anna Prior of Metronomy as the fourth preview of their upcoming album True Entertainment.
"In Salvia" features some ad libs from Metronomy's Anna Prior, and follows the group's January single "Tropigala (2 to 5)", which also featured Prior on backing vocals.
Speaking about her contributions to their album, Prior said, "I love Dutch Uncles. I've been tooting their horn to anyone who will listen. Naturally, I responded with a resounding "I DO" when they asked me (on Valentines day 2022) if I would consider lending my voice to some of their new music. Fast forward a few months whilst on tour with Metronomy and holed up in a hotel room in a part of Europe I was newly visiting, I set up a make-shift vocal booth (with equipment borrowed from my band mate Gbenga) and started adding my own touch to what has turned out to be one of my most adored Dutch Uncles LPs yet. "In Salvia", is one of my favourites on the new record - a perfect slice of melancholy pie."
True Entertainment will follow their 2017 album Big Balloon. Everything Everything's Jonathan Higgs also contributes guest vocals to some of the tracks on the new record.
As well as sharing "In Salvia" today, Dutch Uncles have announced an album launch event, which will include them playing album tracks out on a tannoy and running a pop-up merch stand with discounted tour tickets, vinyl, t-shirts etc at the West Didsbury & Chorlton vs Ascot Utd FA Vase game on 11 March. They've also collaborated with The Beagle in Chorlton on an exclusive pizza with chips on top (referencing their Chips Of Chorlton podcast).
"In Salvia" is out now. Dutch Uncles' True Entertainment album will arrive on 10 March via Memphis Industries, and is available to pre-order now. They'll play The Garage in London on 21 April. Visit dutchuncles.co.uk for tickets.
