Ariana Grande is rumoured to have parted ways with Scooter Braun

22 August 2023, 12:29 | Written by Tyler Damara Kelly

Braun has been Grande's manager for a decade, having worked together since 2013 – the same year she released her debut album Yours Truly.

Braun is one of the most successful music managers, with a back catalogue of clients including Kanye West, David Guetta, Black Eyed Peas, Ava Max, Carly Rae Jepsen and Quavo.

Colombian star J Balvin, who signed with Braun in 2019, left in May and is now being managed by Roc Nation. This appears to have started a pattern amongst Braun and his clients, as Demi Lovato – who also signed with him in 2019 – has recently parted ways with him.

At the time of the signing, she wrote a statement on her Instagram page stating: "Dreams came true for me. I officially have a NEW MANAGER. And not just any manager but the one and only Scooter Braun." She went on to say that she "couldn’t be happier, inspired and excited to begin this next chapter."

She is yet to comment on the reasons for this new split. Last week, rumours circulated that Justin Bieber was also leaving Braun’s management after 16 years of working together. Representatives for both Bieber and Braun have since denied the reports.

Grande is yet to release a follow-up to 2020's Positions, as she is currently working on the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked.

Braun has famously been in a feud with Taylor Swift since 2019, when he purchased her label Big Machine Records and became the owner of the master recordings of her first six studio albums. Despite Braun eventually selling this onto another company, Swift decided to re-record her previous albums, in order to gain control over her masters.

So far she has recorded Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version) and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is scheduled to arrive on 27 October.

Ariana Grande nor Demi Lovato have publicly announced their split from Scooter Braun.
