Spielbergs offer up another thunderous guitar-rock anthem with new single "Distant Star"
Having already caught our attention with the blasting energy of previous singles "We Are All Going To Die" and the emo-rock of "Ghost Boy", the Norwegian trio have returned with another slab of relentless rock energy that once again proves that they are a band to keep your eye on this year.
Spielbergs are a band that have a knack for creating spellbinding songs that are absolutely brimming with tireless energy, and with new single "Distant Star" this is more evident than ever before. The song pounds ahead in an endless, euphoric search for oblivion, crashing down anything that stands in its way with its gigantic rock sensibility and passionate delivery.
And even though it appears to be a powerful statement of intent, lead singer Mads Baklien has described the vulnerability that lies behind the lyrics, saying “[the song is] about feeling lost in the grey of everyday life, wanting to change things up and start from scratch... 'Distant Star' tries to capture that feeling of being stuck in relationships and leaving the responsibility for your own happiness in the hands of your close ones.”
The song is taken from their upcoming EP of the same name which is due to be released on 27 April via By The Time It Gets Dark, and also comes in line with the announcement of the band's first London show at Birthdays on 24 April.
