Pencilled in for a 4 August release, ‘Gen V’ begins to bloom with fluttering arpeggiated synths and a Radiohead-nodding guitar intro before unfurling like the dramatic scenery on a transcontinental rail journey. More comparisons with TV On The Radio will likely follow, although the antagonistic vocal pairing – sweet falsetto one minute, inky vocoded hiss the next – evokes Jamie Lidell on top elastic-tongued form.
