Alice Boman is back with "End Of Time", an enchanting look at full-hearted love
Swedish singer/songwriter Alice Boman is back with "End Of Time", a song that will get stuck in your head until, well, the end of time.
It's a deeply romantic track from Boman, with simple-yet-sweet sentiments throughout, but the appeal doesn't just come from the wholehearted words of pure love. Propelled by the mystical chimes of a 12-stringer, "End Of Time" is a masterclass in songwriting, mixing the etheral folk twinges of compatriot Lykke Li with unabashed pop glory. It's effortlessly hooky with candour in spades, rich textures adding depth at each turn, and hints of otherworldly magic lifting it to new levels. Basically, it's bloody briliant.
The accompanying video was shot in Paris last November, and directed by Jeanne Lula Chauveau. Check it out below:
The track follows last year's breathtaking "Dreams" offering, which broke a lengthy silence since the release of her Skisser and II EPs in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
"I love it when people can get their own ideas of what it’s about, I don’t want to ruin it," Boman says of the track. "But... the main theme is the chorus I guess, those lyrics. It’s like a message to someone. A wish for this someone to let you in, to just let you be there. That’s the main thing."
"I’m a bit of a perfectionist," Boman adds of the track's gestation period (it was written two-and-a-half years ago), "but the songs I love the most are far from perfect. I want my songs to feel alive - that’s the magic."
