NoSo channels "mental health spiral" on new single "Don't Hurt Me, I'm Trying"
NoSo has shared “Don’t Hurt Me, I’m Trying” as the latest glimpse of When Are You Leaving?, their forthcoming second album.
“I wrote this song after having a mental health spiral,” the artist shares. “It’s a sonic representation of my headspace at the time of writing, and a release of all that tension.”
When Are You Leaving? follows NoSo’s 2022 debut Stay Proud Of Me, which focused on longing and imagined futures. This new project takes a more direct approach, addressing disconnection, mental health, and change. According to NoSo (also known as Baek Hwong), the album reflects a period of transition and reckoning with personal experiences that were previously kept at a distance.
The track arrives after “Sugar,” which premiered in May through The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s digital series.
NoSo will perform in London on 15 August at Gunnersbury Park, supporting Khruangbin, TV on the Radio, and Palace. A full European and UK tour is scheduled for early 2026, with stops in Utrecht, Paris, Berlin, and Manchester, among others.
“Don’t Hurt Me, I’m Trying” is out now via Partisan Records. When Are You Leaving? arrives on 10 October.
