British-Nigerian artist Tony Njoku grapples with his self-worth on “100% 4 Beauty"
Taken from the forthcoming EP Justine, unique talent Tony Njoku returns with his distinctive vocal in experimental new single "100% 4 Beauty".
London based producer, singer and idiosyncratic creator Tony Njoku guides listeners through a haunted journey of self-discovery. “100% 4 Beauty”, the first single from his upcoming EP Justine, is rich and luxuriously emotive - lyrically unbearing his insecurities and lack of self-worth.
Using his voice as the main instrument throughout the piece, it careens over the mournful soundscape, effortlessly nestling its way into every tunnel laid bare by the minimal percussion. Pockets of electronics graciously accompany his warm falsetto before they are met with a desperate flurry of warped string patterns, seeking reassurance amongst the emotional uncertainty.
TONY NJOKU · 100% 4 Beauty“This is a song about my dedication to self-examination and self-discovery," Tony candidly explains. "Unearthing some of my flaws and inner turmoil (lack of courage, low self-esteem, etc), and discovering what gets me going despite that turmoil. It’s an ode to beauty, to finding your ‘why’”.
