Niven's latest electronic offering "Manta Ray" packs a hefty punch
UK producer Niven has lifted the title track from upcoming short player Manta Ray.
"Manta Ray" is a transcendent bout of heavy-hitting noise. The beat punches with purpose, and it's impossible to not tap your toes along - but when the pulse drops out, the contrast leaves you breathless. Niven blurs the borders between conventional genres like techno, trance, and pop, fusing them together into something totally fresh that leaves your maw agape.
Niven also helms monthly ambient/electronica/visual arts showcase SPHERE with Yucatan Records, which has seen performances from Tusks, Frett, and Adam Azedia recently.
The Manta Ray EP is out on 10 March via SPHERE Recordings. The EP will feature five tracks, including "Alleviate", which has already been shared in live form, and the beguiling "Rapture" feat. Natalie.
