French producer Lillia Betz gives Pieces of Juno's "Ngone, Mihgad" a spacious, glitch-laden remix
Oslo's KOSO collective have been releasing remixes of various tracks from Pieces of Juno's latest EP for the last few weeks, and the latest of these comes courtesy of Lillia Betz.
The 24-year-old French producer who lives and works in Los Angeles is the third female, following Ida Dillan's remix of "Valetine" and PURPURRPURLE's take on “Fløyel", to sprinkle some magic on the tracks from Juno's Frisson EP.
Having studied piano and classical composition at the Paris Conservatory, she graduated from the Electronic Production and Design department at Berklee College of Music, and has scored music for adverts and operas in her short career to date, alongside her own releases.
On "Ngone, Mihgad" Betz blends sharp synth sounds and beats with snatches of wordless choral sounds; as the angular sounds push against the ambience it gives the track a feeling of deep space, like opening a small door and discovering a cavernous expanse into which you can step into and be completely surrounded by.
