Kacy Hill cuts the ribbon on mighty pop tune "Lion"
Kacy Hill is back with "Lion", a mighty, roaring piece of pop that indicates a bright future ahead.
The GOOD Music (Kanye West) signee blew our minds last year with assured R&B such as "Foreign Fields", and she's back now to really stamp her mark on the pop world.
Frequent collaborator Shae DeTar has created the art, of which Hill says: "the visuals for 'Lion' were shot in my hometown of Phoenix, Arizona and focus on romanticism in the American Dream and the nostalgia of growing up in the desert."
"'Lion' is one of the most aggressive tracks off the album," continues Hill. "It speaks rather shamelessly about my own tendency to shroud feelings of guilt in defensiveness."
The track's produced by pop maestro Stuart Price, and is the lead single from Hill's upcoming debut record. Flickering basslines waltz with off-kilter beats, while gorgeous pop melodies float along the top - it's all very subdued and glossy until the chorus, which explodes into a spasming monster of Scandi-style pop brilliance.
