Dilly Dally announce debut album Sore, unleash lead track "Desire"
Dynamism? Dominance? Dilly Dally have it in spades. Announcing the release of their debut album Sore, the Toronto four-piece have shared a track titled "Desire".
Lurching into life with a cacophony of distortion and feedback before a screeched count-in kickstarts the song proper, Dilly Dally present punk-rock at it's most classic - before trashing the formula completely. Measured rhythms and stadium-sized guitar riffs surge with a colossal weight and enough power to leave your eardrums feeling bruised.
Katie Monks' vocals breeze and rasp with emotive intensity over endlessly varying guitar solos. Forceful whilst howling of desperation and want, "Desire" is a contradicting explosion, and it's everything you didn't know you'd been waiting for.
"We made this song the first track on our record because it gives off the feeling of a fresh start," Katie Monks says of the release. "Sore is an album about rebirth... hence its disgusting guitar tones and constant moaning. What can I say, happiness is a struggle, but the last thing I'd ever want you or anyone else to do is give up that fight."
Sore is released via Partisan Records and Buzz Records on 9 October.
