Cosima's shared a tantalising new seven-track mixtape called South Of Heaven
Cosima has shared a new seven-track 'mixtape' called South Of Heaven - it's a magnificent statement of intent from the up-and-coming artist.
The tape features Cosima's first three already-loved tracks - "Hymns For Him", "Had To Feel Something", and "Girls Who Get Ready" - plus four new delights.
“South Of Heaven was written at a time when nothing ever felt like it was enough,” says Cosima. “I couldn’t get out of bed and couldn’t work out how to be good to myself. I was just waiting for someone else to love me so that I didn’t have to. I was in a state of self-inflicted purgatory. Putting this mixtape out is a selfish form of therapy for me, but maybe one person will need to hear the songs as much as I needed to write them.”
Cosima's debut collection is a ludicrously dreamy torrent of pop. The Peckham upstart wields an opiate-addled, swoony palette of sounds - she punctuates her molten vocals with synths that shimmer like mercury and afterparty rhythms bound for badly lit bedrooms. Cosima makes invigorating red-eyed music for sleepless lovers.
