Irreverent duo Rude Grl unveil tongue-in-cheek track “Bruce Banner”
Newly signed to Rat Boy’s label SCUM, Rude Grl is a collaborative project between Jenna Dickens and La Roux’s Ben Langmaid.
After careening into the limelight on debut single “That’s The Way It Is” earlier in the year, Rude Grl returns with a deliciously offensive blend of early ‘90s hip-hop and late '80s post-punk on “Bruce Banner”.

It would be fairly easy to lump Rude Grl and more specifically it’s front-woman Jenna Dickens as an easily excitable contemporary of everyone’s favourite ponytail twirling bubblegum princess GIRLI and you wouldn’t be far wrong. However, Rude Grl manages to balance arrogance and self-deprecatory behaviour in a way that allows a listener to be enraptured and repulsed by her in equal measure rather than just the later in GIRLI’s case. This is a skill mastered by such legends as Siouxsie Sioux, Courtney Love and Rick Astley.
