Doldrums’ main man Airick Woodhead takes the Best Fit Q&A and talks to us about nursery rhymes, his desire for slightly out of control psychic abilities and tells us to mind out own biz!

Who would play you in the movie of your life?

Christopher Walken.

What would your superpower be and why?

Serious answer. I’ve had this conversation so many times. I think Phoenix‘s out of control psychic abilities have such a huge array of applications, it’s hard to imagine anything better than that. But of course the result is that it nearly kills her and I’m not sure if it includes interdimensional travel, which I wouldn’t be able to skip out on. Mostly though I just want to be able to function without food and sleep!

What’s your idea of heaven?

Heaven is a place where nothing ever happens.

What one thing have you learnt from your parents?

My parents are both artists and it’s inspiring to know that what I want to do can work out. That you don’t have to sell yourself short or compromise your integrity in order to live a sustainable existence.

What song do you wish you’d written?

Old Mac Donald

If you could say something to your 15 year old self, what would it be?

“Grow up.”

What’s your re-occurring nightmare?

I don’t really have one. I practice lucid dreaming which generally steers me clear of nightmares. When I do have them they are vast unintelligible worlds of pure agony which I feel more than see and wake up in the usual anxious sweaty fit.

What song will they play at your funeral?

Majical Cloudz – ‘What That Was’

What five people would you invite to your fantasy dinner party?

Daniel, Steve and Kyle (the Doldrums band) and my 2 dreamgirlfriends. :)

Who would you most like to apologise to and why?

None of your biz.

Doldrums debut album Lesser Evil is out on Souterrain Transmissions on 25 February. He will be playing London’s Corisca Studios on 20 February and Brighton’s Green Door Store on 21 February.
