Watch: DIANA – Perpetual Surrender [Premiere]
Words fail to even describe how incredibly captivating the new single from Canadian ‘supergroup’ DIANA is, to the point where its very title sums up everything in seven short syllables.
Formed from various members of indie stalwarts The Hidden Cameras, Destroyer and Bonjay, DIANA craft an enigmatic world of nostalgia that dazzles the senses. Soft focused fretless bass intertwines with an almost tropical backbone whilst Carmen Elle’s yearning vocals pull at the heartstrings, leaving you pining for a lost love that’s long since been forgotten. This unearthed emotion dramatised further with a perfectly placed saxophone solo.
Jesse Yules’ accompanying visuals – premiering here at Best Fit – tie everything together with slow moving reflected imagery. We give you approximately 30 seconds until you’re completely overwhelmed with emotion. Flawless.
DIANA’s self-titled debut album drops via Jagjaguwar on August 19. Grab more info here.
