Jack White announces new lyric and writing anthology Collected Lyrics and Selected Writing Volume 1
Jack White has announced the release of Collected Lyrics and Selected Writing Volume 1, a new anthology of lyrics, poetry, and personal writings spanning his solo work and collaborations.
The volume, edited by Third Man Records co-founder Ben Blackwell, compiles lyrics from White’s solo releases, as well as selections from his work with The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather, and other projects. The book features previously unpublished poems and reflections, along with rare photos from White’s archive.
The anthology includes original essays by Pulitzer Prize–nominated poet Adrian Matejka, filmmaker and writer dream hampton, and Blackwell. Each contributor offers a different lens on White’s career, drawing from his Detroit roots, lyrical voice, and prolific creative output.
The book follows the 2023 release of The White Stripes Complete Lyrics, and continues Third Man Books’ documentation of White’s musical contributions. Pre-orders are available now through Third Man Books.
White’s most recent album, No Name, arrived in 2024 and was nominated for a GRAMMY Award for Best Rock Album earlier this year. He is set to play a string of North American festivals this summer, including appearances at Bourbon & Beyond, Riot Fest, and the CBGB Festival.
Collected Lyrics and Selected Writing Volume 1 will be published in the United States on 21 October via Third Man Books.
