The Line of Best Fit
Part of the new wave of French pop heralded by discoverers extraordinaire La Souterraine, Laure Briard released her first LP this year, a sunny 30-minute pop opus evoking the south of France, Stereolab and Françoise Hardy.
Accompanied by Eddy Crampes (with whom she co-wrote and composed her LP alongside label-mate Julien Gasc), the two gave us an intimate take of "C'est la vie" (That's life), a candid and melancholic relationship post-mortem.
Révélation is available on 2000 Records' bandcamp page. Laure Briard will play with Laetitia Sadier in Paris in June.
