Canadian Jay Arner crafts artfully concise pop songs, driven by catchy choruses, cheerful riffs, warm vocals and synths that sit nearer to John Maus than Cut Copy.
We caught up with the nonchalant Torontonian during the Great Escape festival, to capture him playing standout track “Broken Glass”, off his 2013 debut LP, in a charmingly verdant Brighton backyard.
Get Jay's eponymous album on bandcamp.
Jay's other band Energy Slime release their debut album November 11th.
