With the boygenuis EP landing earlier than advertised last week it’s been a busy time for Virginia-native Lucy Dacus. But before she sets off on a US tour with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker, there’s a small matter of a London headline show. Playing to a enraptured crowd at Islington’s Academy Hall, Dacus kept the set Historian-heavy, with the wall-of-sound crescendos of ‘Night Shift’ and ‘Addictions’ proving firm fan favourites. As well as giving the latest long player an outing, favourites old and new such as No Burden’s ‘I Don’t Wanna Be Funny Any More’ and boygenius cut ‘Bite The Hand’ also found themselves on the setlist. Parri Thomas was there to capture it all.
