Returning to Brighton’s Komedia for another year, The Line of Best Fit’s stage of hand-picked talent was one not to be missed. Those that didn’t get down early missed out as the one-in-one-out queue was flush with eager fans. Those that did make it in witnessed Sportsman’s smooth Scandinavian stylings, Mavi Phoenix’s luminous pop party, Nilüfer Yanya’s pop-soul and a heart-melting set from Phoebe Bridgers - her first ever full band show in the UK. Bridgers and her band, all dressed in black and white, took the audience on a tour of ‘Stranger in the Alps’ with many songs reworked for stage (“Thanks for singing along to the slowcore version of that song”) and a solo cover or Tom Petty’s ‘It’ll All Work Out’.
The Great Escape continues for its third and final day today with the likes of Dama Scout, Bully and Puppy gracing stages all over the city.
