Tom Rasmussen returns with “Shugs (Live Wire)”
Tom Rasmussen has returned with “Shugs (Live Wire)”, as their first taste of new music since their 2023 debut album, Body Building.
Speaking of the song, Tom Rasmussen says: “Shugs was written and recorded in the middle of a hot summer, one in which we were partying a lot. I was reading McKenzie Wark’s book ‘Raving’ and it was a summer where the nighttimes felt really hopeful: all that kissing, together, on these dance floors, against walls in dimly lit underpasses. My favourite lyric from the song goes ‘nothing for myself that is not also for others was spray painted where we kissed on the wall, right above us’ — a socialist trance banger. Why not?”
They've also announced their Live Wire 2024 tour, which includes a night at KOKO in London on 25 October, as well as shows in Leeds, Bristol, Glasgow, and Manchester. Onn Saturday they'll be supporting Kylie at her BST Hyde Park show.
"Shugs (Live Wire)" is out now via Globe Town Records.
