FAMY reveal songs from long awaited debut album at The Lexington
Two years after hitting the scene with sell-out single “Dogg Dogg”, folk-pop quartet FAMY are picking up where they left off. Headlining The Lexington last night, the West London band make up for lost time with foot-stomping tambourine and anthemic choruses.
The set list spans FAMY’s early material (2011’s “Barbie Girls”) and post-hiatus releases (from 2014 EP Donkey and follow-up Ava), offering a glimpse of the band’s debut album, out in Autumn this year. The ‘new’ tracks, largely contemporary with those put out to date (the LP was recorded in the Summer of 2012, before management issues stalled the release), are led by percussive Beach Boys drums and vocalist Bruce Yates’ soaring vocals.
Bringing a vibrant show to a jubilant end with “Ava”, thunderous toms and echoing chants, expansive beyond The Lexington’s modest proportions, FAMY are setting their sights on bigger things to come.
Following the release of their debut album We Fam Econo, out on Transgressive Records on 8th September, FAMY will play five headline dates across the UK.
