The Last Dinner Party earn biggest debut number one album by a band in nine years
BRITs Rising Star winners The Last Dinner Party earn biggest number one album debut by a band in nine years with their debut album, Prelude to Ecstasy.
The Last Dinner Party's debut album earned 32,800 chart units in its first week, marking the biggest opening week for a chart-topping debut album by a band since 2015, when Years & Years managed 55,000 with their debut LP Communion.
Prelude to Ecstasy is also the best seller in UK independent record shops this week, also landing the top spot on the Official Record Store Chart, and is the biggest vinyl album of the week too. With over 14,000 vinyl copies included in its total, it’s the highest sales week for a vinyl album since Oasis’ The Masterplan was remastered in November.
