Taylor Swift – who was honoured with the Innovator Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards earlier this week – is bringing her Eras tour to Arlington for three shows starting tonight.

The city are also ceremoniously renaming the street outside the stadium as Taylor Swift Way. The street sign will be located near the intersection of Randol Mill Road and Collins Street.

In a press release from the city, Arlington boasted that it was "participating in a friendly competition with other U.S. cities hosting The Eras Tour to demonstrate its 'Reputation' as one of Swift’s biggest fans."

This follows on from Las Vegas lighting up its Gateway Arches in colours that corresponded to different eras of Swifts career, as well as Glendale, Arizona changing its name to Swift City.

Arlington are also detailing plans to help cats in need of rescue, to commemorate Swift’s love of felines, by allowing residents to adopt animals from Arlington’s Animal Services for $40 in honour of Swift’s 40 Top 10 Hits.

Later this summer, the Arlington Museum of Art will debut an exclusive exhibition focusing on the evolution of the icon’s artistic expression. Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Collection presented by the HELP Center for LGBT Health, will open on 3 June.

Fans are excited about the surprise acoustic segment of the show where Swift debuts two new songs on the set. Last week in Las Vegas she brought out Marcus Mumford to debut ‘Cowboy Like Me’ from 2020’s evermore.

As her own way of saying thank you to the community's generosity, Swift has been making generous donations to food banks in cities that she's been performing in as part of The Eras Tour, which began in Glendale, Arizona.

The Eras Tour continues tonight in Arlington, Texas.
