""Anti-Hero" is one of my favourite songs I've ever written. I really don’t think I’ve delved this far into my insecurities in this detail before," Swift said. "I struggle a lot with the idea that my life is unmanageably sized, and not to sound too dark, but I struggle with the idea of not feeling like a person."
Swift then discussed how the track is a "guided tour" of "things I hate about myself", and added that she likes the song a lot "because it's really honest".
Midnights will follow 2020's Evermore, although she did release Fearless (Taylor's Version) and Red (Taylor's Version) last year.
