Tapir! announce their decision to "close the curtains" on the project
South London six-piece Tapir! have taken to their socials to announce that they have closed the curtains on the project and will not be making anymore music in the future.
"With many of us now at different stages in our lives from we when we first began the band, we feel as though now it is a good time to close the curtains on the Tapir! chapter of our lives. We are all so proud of what we've made – we have completed the project that we set out to achieve and then some," the band wrote in a statement.
They add that they feel a "great sense of pride" in their work, and are grateful to those who supported them.
"Although Tapir! is over, we will continue to work with each other in different capacities, and we'll keep this platform to update folk with the things we're working on," they continued. "Thank you to those who joined us on this journey, and to those who helped us conquer this mountain, we couldn't have done it without you."
In an additional slide, the band's vocalist, Evelyn Gray has detailed their experience of prioritising their transition since the release of Tapir's debut album, The Pilgrim, Their God and the King of My Decrepit Mountain, last year. They have released a Bandcamp-only track, "Hang On In There Baby", with all profits going towards their transition fund.
