St Vincent unveils details of her first self-produced album, All Born Screaming

Annie Clark, the musician better known as triple-GRAMMY-winning iconoclast St. Vincent, has announced her seventh full-length studio album, All Born Screaming, and shares lead single "Broken Man".

St. Vincent’s first self-produced record, All Born Screaming is Clark at her most unfiltered. “There are some places, emotionally, that you can only get to by taking the long walk into the woods alone—to find out what your heart is really saying,” Clark says. “It sounds real because it is real.”

All Born Screaming is an invitation to test the limits of what is possible–and to then keep going. The album was brought to life with the aid of a highly curated dream lineup of friends — Rachel Eckroth, Josh Freese, Dave Grohl, Mark Guiliana, Cate Le Bon, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Stella Mogzawa and David Ralicke — the album is an unadulterated expression of St. Vincent’s singular vision.

All Born Screaming, St Vincent's seventh studio album follows 2021's Daddy's Home, which featured production from herself and Jack Antonoff. She revealed to MOJO that she began on the album as soon as Daddy's Home was wrapped up. Work took place in her own Compound Fracture studio in LA, Electric Lady in New York and Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio in Chicago.

Following the release of Daddy's Home, St Vincent released a short film, The Nowhere Inn. In 2022, St Vincent released a cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Piggy" featuring Dave Grohl on drums.
