Speakers Corner Quartet release Kae Tempest collaboration "Geronimo Blues"
Speakers Corner Quartet share a new single from their forthcoming debut album Further Out Than The Edge.
"Geronimo Blues" sees Kae Tempest's lyricism question our societal values, and human relationships, both with ourselves and technology.
Giving more context on the track, Biscuit from Speakers Corner Quartet explains: “It made sense to build the track around their vocals, as the poetry felt better suited to a more stripped back, cinematic feeling. The lyrics and themes are timeless. When we discussed it recently, we felt like the song’s texture is sand and the emotion is time.”
Drummer Kwake Bass adds: “The relevance of this song comes around and around. All of the subject matter feels like it’s on loop”, affirmed by bassist Peter Bennie: “Yeah, I'm always surprised just how relevant the lyrics feels, no matter how many times I've listened to it.”
"Geronimo Blues" is the fourth single release from Further Out Than The Edge. Previous singles include "Can We Do This?" feat. Sampha, "fix" feat. Tirzah, and "On Grounds" feat. Coby Sey.
Further Out Than The Edge is out on 2 June. Speakers Corner Quartet will celebrate the release by headlining Camden's Roundhouse. Tickets are available now.
