Sigur Rós confirm first new album in a decade for June and announce orchestral tour
Sigur Rós have revealed they're putting out their first new album in a decade this June, and have announced some live dates for this summer with a 41-piece orchestra.
This afternoon (16 March) Sigur Rós announced some special shows taking place in London, Europe and North America, which will see them accompanied by a 41-piece orchestra.
The trailer announcing the tour dates also confirms that the shows will see Sigur Rós playing new material from their first album in a decade that's due out in June. Although Sigur Rós are yet to share more details about their upcoming album, it'll follow 2013's Kveikur.
The tour will begin at Christine and the Queen's Meltdown festival, which takes place at London's Southbank Centre on 16 June. They'll perform with the London Contemporary Orchestra for the London and European shows, and the Wordless Music Orchestra will accompany Sigur Rós for their North America shows.
