Ryan Gosling's "I’m Just Ken” wins Best Song at the Critics Choice Awards
Last night (14 January), the 29th annual Critics Choice Awards took place at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
One of the most talked about films of 2023, Greta Gerwig's Barbie, won six awards including, Best Comedy, Best Original Screenplay, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Hair and Makeup. The most surprising of the night: was Ryan Gosling picking up the Best Song award for "I'm Just Ken". The track was nominated alongside Dua Lipa’s “Dance The Night” and Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”, which were also featured on the Barbie soundtrack.
“Ryan Gosling, this is as much your award as ours,” Mark Ronson said, in his acceptance speech. “You made the audience fall in love with this song with your matchless performance, so thank you.”
