Phoebe Bridgers covers The Handsome Family’s "So Much Wine" for annual Christmas benefit single
Phoebe Bridgers has shared her annual Christmas benefit single, and this year it's a cover of The Handsome Family's "So Much Wine".
Bridgers' 2022 Christmas benefit single sees her cover The Handsome Family's 2000 track "So Much Wine", and she will donate proceeds from her annual festive release to the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
The cover is produced by Bridgers and longtime collaborators Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska, and features Marshall Vore, Harrison Whitford, Sebastian Steinberg, Paul Mescal, as well as vocals, violin and whistling by Andrew Bird.
Bridgers' 2021 Christmas charity single was a cover of Tom Waits' "Day After Tomorrow". In previous years, Bridgers has teamed up with Jackson Browne to record a version of McCarthy Trenching’s "Christmas Song", covered "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas", recruited Fiona Apple and The National's Matt Berninger to deliver an updated version of Simon & Garfunkel's "7 O'Clock News / Silent Night", and more.
