Phoebe Bridgers and Maggie Rogers' "Iris" cover raises nearly $75,000 for the Brigid Alliance abortion charity
Phoebe Bridgers and Maggie Rogers' re-release of their cover of Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" has raised nearly $75,000 for the Brigid Alliance abortion charity in just 24 hours.
Last Friday (4 November) Bridgers and Rogers re-released their 2020 cover of Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" on Bandcamp for 24 hours, this time to raise money for the Brigid Alliance. They previously released the cover to fundraise for Stacey Abrams’ Fair Fight.
In just 24 hours, Bridgers and Rogers' cover raised nearly $75,000 for the Brigid Alliance through 18,185 downloads. The song was available on Bandcamp for a pay-what-you-want price.
Just hours before the cover's 24 hours was up on Bandcamp, Bridgers wrote on Twitter, "We’ve raised almost 70k. So wild. Cannot thank you enough. Still a few more hours to help someone get a safe abortion."
