Oklou announces forthcoming debut album, choke enough
French producer and artist Oklou has announced the forthcoming debut album, choke enough, alongside the release of its title track.
Oklou’s debut album was developed with co-producers Casey MQ, Danny L Harle and A. G. Cook, and features Bladee and underscores. The album is a reflection on the subconscious and conscious demands of an artistic psychology, as well as existing and creating in a brief and transient life.
"’choke enough’ is a very intense album for me. It’s filled with directions, tentatives and irregularities, reflecting on my last years on this planet as my heart and conscience has really decentered from myself.”
The new single follows several recently released tracks “harvest sky,” featuring Bay Area artist underscores, “obvious”, and “family and friends,” which came alongside a Gil Gharbi directed music video, which will all be included on the forthcoming album.
Speaking further about the new single “choke enough” and its place on the album Oklou adds, “This title track is important enough to have been chosen as the title track. Not sure whether it’s because it’s one of the oldest sounds of the record, or simply my favourite? Maybe it’s because it holds an important question that I’m trying to display within the entire album; what situations are we ready to put ourselves into in order to provoke sensations and drama, in order to feel alive.”
